It contains some really great figures – The Ood (with green eyes), the Doctor in his stetson, Amelia Pond (in different clothes to the Doctor Who Experience exclusive figure), and two towering Silence figures – one with its mouth open and one with its mouth closed!

These figures look great – it’s certainly a successful first Wave. The Ood seems to be a mashup of the Series 2 Ood body and Series 4 Ood head (with a different translator!), but overall it’s a lovely selection.

Some have criticised it for looking cheap and poorly made – but that’s rather the point!

The blurb on the box (thank you to a64) reads:

The figure looks absolutely fantastic – but the catch is that it’s only available at the Doctor Who Experience in London, and the numbers that each visitor can buy are limited. Hopefully this figure may become more easily available in the future – but we’ll keep you updated. The price is £9.99.

Doctor Who and its affiliated characters etc. are owned by the BBC. David Jones is created, written and made by a64 using action figures made by Character Options.

Almost inevitably, following on from the ‘Revelation’ and ‘Destiny’ ‘Davros and the Daleks’ boxsets, comes a new ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ boxset.

It contains Davros and 2 variant Daleks from the story, along with the Fourth Doctor (in his dufflecoat).

Once again people have expressed some disappointment at the lack of new figures (Sarah or Harry would have been excellent, but personally I would have loved to see Nyder included!), however it is still an excellent looking set nonetheless.

A Destiny of the Daleks set is to follow the recently announced ‘Revelation of the Daleks’ boxset as the next ‘Davros boxset’.

Containing a new Fourth Doctor figure, Davros (with a computer sphere) and 2 Dalek variants, the sculpts look excellent and realistic.

Alongside some of the previously released ‘suicide’ Daleks this release will allow collectors to really recreate the episode on their shelves – though some people have expressed disappointment that the set does not include Romana.
