Let me start by saying that this figure is very good for what it is. It’s not one of the best figures available, but by no fault of Character Options. As you read this review hopefully you’ll come to understand more how it’s very difficult to transform a dead Victorian old woman into an action figure!
The head is very good indeed, and carries a real resemblance to the zombie in The Unquiet Dead. The eyes are especially well done, which is a good thing otherwise this would have just been a figure of an old woman! The paintwork on the dress is also very well detailed too.
The arms are a problem however. They are very thin, and therefore the joints in them are well emphasised and if you move them by even a small amount it shows up a lot. It’s a nice touch to be able to swivel the hands around however, and the bicep joint means you can pose her dead in a coffin, should you wish to do so.
The lower half of the dress is also a problem in some ways. It’s an unavoidable one, but a problem nonetheless. It looks good, but it has no movement and there’s nothing you can do with it! This isn’t a problem for collectors really, but it’s not an inspiring figure as a cause and I can’t see children being too interested in it really.
The only way in which you could improve this figure is by possibly making the flap on the front of the dress separate so it was really a ‘flap’, rather than being moulded into it. Apart from this I see no way to improve it, so it’s good for what it is but isn’t one of the best!
