I thought it would make more sense to review the body of the Judoon under the Judoon Trooper page, so if you want to read this review of the Judoon Captain, I advise you to read the Trooper review too!
Anyway - the Captain. Now what is different? Well, it’s the rhino head of course! I know many people were angry that we couldn’t fit a helmet over the rhino head, and they were making us buy two figures that were practically the same, but comparing the sizes - it wouldn’t work. When you watch ‘Smith and Jones’, you will notice the Captain’s head stretching out of the Judoon body, and as they probably couldn’t really do this with the figure, we have to buy two.
The head itself though is very good indeed. Its mouth is made from a slightly more bendy material than the rest of it, giving it an interesting feature there, and the ears can wobble well! It’s superbly detailed and basically a very good representation of the Judoon in the episode. The only thing I don’t like about it is the heads turning power - or rather, the lack of the heads turning power. I know they wouldn’t be able to make the head turn much, but if we were able to adjust it just a tiny bit, it would make a huge amount of difference. It’s like the new arm styles (with the articulation point between the elbow and shoulder) - you wouldn’t want to turn it too much or it would look odd, but just having a slight turn can make a lot of difference. This point on the Judoon leaves him looking bemused and a little too static - which is a shame as it is otherwise such a lovely figure.
