Mickey was the first figure with bicep swivels, and the first with hand swivels too. He was also the first figure to be made in the now common style of being a more ‘figure-like’ figure, forsaking a more realistic mould for a more ‘stiff’ one to become a better figure. In this case at least, I believe this is a bargain that paid off.
His posability is possibly the best we’ve seen out of any figure to date, from the excellent bicep swivel to the great joints in the legs. His arms work really well, looking very realistic but still allowing a lot of movement, although some people have complained of not being able to get him to hold the Preacher’s gun that is included. I, however, like many have not found this a problem and hopefully the pictures here will help those in difficulty (coming soon.)
His clothes are made of an excellent plastic that bends well to allow the legs to ‘sit’, without looking unrealistic.
The only two parts of the figure I have a real issue with are the armpits - which have very strange paintwork on them that doesn’t seem to match up properly - and the face. The face is the one thing that slightly lets the figure down, as it doesn’t really look too much like Mickey. I can see what they’re trying to do, but it doesn’t quite capture the spirit of Noel Clarke in my opinion.
Still, this is overall an amazing figure, definitely one to get, just be warned - if you buy it with the Army of Ghosts set I’ve know the paint on the transport device to stick onto his top and cause a nasty mark all down it. The Mickey pictured isn’t this one - so doesn’t have it - and I don’t know if this is a problem with all of them, but it’s something to be wary of.
