The choices made for the figures are quite simple. The Slitheen and Graske appeal to new series Doctor Who fans for obvious reasons, the Sarah Janes do too, and Kudlak has been chosen because he simply looks so darn cool!
I think they’ve done a brilliant job at making what could have been a boring figure apart from a few places into a really great one.
The obvious best bit is the face. It’s so incredibly detailed and it looks really brilliant. I adore the paintwork that’s used here to give such a great image, especially on the eyes where they seem to have glazed it or something to give it a really good reflective effect. It gives just the same impression Kudlak did in his original episode.
The coat could have been the drawback – I’m not a great fan of CO’s coats in general. However here it’s got creases in just the right areas, and it’s just the right shape, so I really love it. This is also helped by the wonderful colour scheme chosen by the original designers. The red and black of the coat is so striking it couldn’t fail but look cool anyway.
The shoes are quite a lot like the Judoon ones but add to the overall effect and remind you of his war-like past.
Basically I think they’ve pulled off a wonderful figure with this one and I applaud them for it.
