Three similar versions of Sarah Jane were released in the figure range. I will review each separately as they do all have slight differences.
However the same thing between each is the head, legs and translator. The fact they all come with the translator is nice, but I would have liked to have seen something a bit different – sonic lipstick maybe?
The legs move well and look very good. They have nice articulation at the thies, it’s just a shame they couldn’t have it at the top of the boots too to give the change for some really realistic posability.
The head is better than the School Reunion version, but I still don’t quite think it’s Liz Sladen. The hair is a bit too ‘big’ and the face looks better from side on. Still, it’s close enough to be good and doesn’t detract that much.
The coat on this version is quite interesting. It’s a nice sculpt and looks good on her, but in a static pose it doesn’t look natural – it puffs out too much. However if you bend the arms forward, and perhaps move the handbag down to the lower arm, this gives her a more ‘action’ pose and the coat then looks really good and helps the overall effect.
The handbag itself is a nice accessory and contrasts with the coat to add a bit of interest against the otherwise dull whiteness of it.
Due to the fact that she doesn’t work in that many poses she isn’t my favourite Sarah Jane, but I still like her and think she’s a nice variation.
