“A blown apart Cyberman?! Ha! Why don’t you just snap the legs and arms off one of the thousands you’ve already got?!”

Go on – how many of us have heard this from relations and friends who simply don’t understand. How many of us felt like this ourselves when we first heard about it? I know I did a bit – but all of these feelings were ‘blown away’ when I actually saw it. They haven’t just snapped off a leg or arm, they’ve remoulded it to actually look blown apart – something that I’m sure has spared us just a little bit more embarrassment.

The detail of the ‘blown apart’ bits is pretty good, the way the wires inside echo the wires at the joints themselves is a nice touch and it all feels like thought has gone into it.

However I can’t help feeling that it could have been a little better. Apart from three joints it’s in perfect condition, and it’s hard to imagine the type of explosion that could have done damage just like this! Perhaps if there were a few little bits ‘blown off’ or broken it could look better – one thing I think really could have helped would have been a remoulded head revealing the complex electronics inside. The paintwork could also, perhaps, have looked a little more ‘scarred’.

However it’s still a nice idea and is much better than I was expecting. So still very good, but could be a little better.
