Just how many of these figures did CO make? Why oh why oh why not make this the exclusive in the ‘Daleks in Manhattan’ boxset and put the pig slave on general release?!
Still – the figure itself… The body isn’t brilliant, ok it looks pretty good in portraying a boiler suit but the paintwork isn’t wonderful and it all looks a bit stuck in one ‘base colour’. The sculpting of the head is a little better - it really echoes a pig and carries across the same sadness and revulsion that it did in the original episode.
The articulation is generally good, it poses quite realistically and it does generally seem to be a good representation of the original character. And that’s it. Finito.
Yes, the main problem with this figure is the lack of ‘sparkle’, the lack of magic that makes it come alive as you hold it. It’s a good figure, better than the plain ‘pig slave’ in my opinion, but no more. Perhaps if it was just that little bit better there wouldn’t be so many in the shops…
