I write this review directly after writing about the Werewolf, and comparing the figures is actually very funny. The werewolf is a towering fellow with huge pieces of articulation, and the Angel has some of the tiniest and intricate articulation we’ve seen!
Her arms are wafer thin, and in the past we wouldn’t have seen any articulation at all, just look at Series 2 Rose for proof, but they’ve pulled the stops out here and produced something very special. It’s a good job, because it would be a pointless figure if it didn’t have any way to cover its eyes in true Weeping Angel fashion!
The only problem with this is that I’ve heard stories of the arms breaking off, and generally being very weak. I haven’t personally experienced this, luckily, but I can imagine it happening. However if you just treat it very carefully, especially when taking it out of the box, it should be all right.
The detail in both the sculpting and paintwork is immaculate here too. It’s the perfect character to be turned into a figure, as it stayed still during the episode, and the wonderful work on this figure really carries the terrifying nature across.
The wings are attached in the same way as the Krillitane ones, but are definitely a lot stronger, and mine haven’t come off even when I’ve tried flapping them hard just to see if they would!
So overall a must-have purchase most certainly for any fan, just be careful with it!
